Curse Dark as Gold by Elizabeth Bunce
I'm getting into retold fairy tales especially when they have a twist to them. I realize that this is a juvenile book published for a teenage audience but since I have a connection to the author through a stitching board, I figured I would read it. I read it in under 12 hours.
I found the most developed character to be the Mill which had it's own personality. I found the heroine to be a stubborn, independent woman who should have trusted her husband to be a partner instead of feeling that she had to do everything herself. I was frustrated that Harte never asked Rosie to marry him and I keep wondering how long the long distance commuting is really going to work.
